We are elated to introduce Violet Ake, a Duke patient, who wrote and illustrated our new book “Cleft and Craniofacial Team Days”, now available on Amazon!
In the book, Violet tells kids all about their annual visit with a multidisciplinary cleft and craniofacial team. Her hope is to make Team visits “not scary, but sort of fun.” She even wrote a glossary!
This was an amazing collaboration between a patient, her family, her medical providers and a mission to advocate for and empower people with a cleft and craniofacial background while advancing the research, education and care for these conditions.
